Vietnam War Fall Of Saigon South Vietnam Flag Which Flew At The US Embassy. Vu Van Toan was a South Vietnamese Air Force Pilot trained by the US who flew T28, C119, C-47 & C7A during the Vietnam War. Sometime April 28 as they were evacuating Saigon off the the rooftop of the US embassy, an Embassy Officer handed him the South Vietnam Flag which was cut down from the corner ropes. This flag flew at the American Consulate during the Fall of Saigon.
