The South Vietnam 5 Dong banknote was released in 1955 by the National Bank of Vietnam. The obverse of the red banknote features a man with a plow and a water buffalo in a rice paddy. The banknotes reverse depicts tropical vegetation and a straw hut by the river. The banknote is 125 x 65 mm in size and bears no security thread and watermarks.
